Andean Frazadas / Rugs from Peru
Bohemian and colourful vintage Peruvian Blanket.
Material: It has been hand-woven from hand-spun alpaca and sheep wool using a traditional back strap loom. All dyes are organic from natural plant sources.
Two pieces of cloth are made to the width of the loom and then sewn together. It takes around six weeks to make. They are thick and each is one-of-a-kind in colour and design.
Frazadas can be used as rugs, throws, table cloth, bed coverings, picnic blankets, or wall hangings. The possibilities are endless! This frazada was sourced from the Sacred Valley near Cuzco in the Peruvian Andes.
